Chippendale Side Chair out of Sapele. I started from complete scratch, measuring out, designing and making my own templates for the front and back legs, shoe, back splat, and top crest. All the joinery was handcut, which I spent a good bit of time figuring out the angles and whatnot. I also designed, hand drew and carved all the details on the chair. I finished by a couple of coats of linseed oil, glazing with the sediment of a dark stain, then did several coats of shellac. It was a fun and humbling project for sure.
