Chippendale Chest on Frame

Chippendale Chest on Frame by Gregory Brunk — view 1

Chippendale chest on frame Circa 1775. The idea for this chest was from a picture I saw in a Bartley?s kit furniture catalogue. I took some liberties in the design, I added carved shells to the knees and an applied carved shell on the apron. I used the cedar for all the drawer bottoms.  The finish is water base dye with seal coat of linseed oil followed by approx.. 20 coats of padded on garnet shellac and final rubout with rottenstone. This was my first try at the ball and claw legs after a class given by Gene Landon.
