Desk-on-Frame by William Bundschuh — view 1

Primary Wood: Cherry Secondary Wood: Oak, Tulip Poplar This desk-on-frame is based on a photograph that was in Norman Vandal's book "Queen Anne Furniture". I later found that the original casework was built by Eliphalet Chapin and is stored in the Yale University Art Gallery. I also found another similar desk-on-frame at the Winterthur Gallery Digital Online Collections that resulted in me changing my design just prior to construction to include the ball-and-claw foot design. The interior gallery for the desk is a combination of design ideas from Norman Vandal and Tony Kubalak. The finish is cherry oil stain with hand rubbed satin urethane and a crystalline wax top coat. The hardware is from Ball and Ball.
