Shaker Step Stool — view 1

"The piece was inspired by a visit to Hancock Shaker Village in Pittsfield, MA while I was on a research trip for my graduate thesis. It is a Shaker-style two-stepper with 2 dovetailed treads and 3 half-dovetailed bracers. My mother always had a love for the Shakers and the beauty in their design and this piece is dedicated to her. This piece was made from North Carolina tulip poplar machined planed but all hand-cut joinery. The Shaker Two-Stepper was finished with simple furniture paste wax to emphasize the lighter wood's quality."
