Oxbow Chest

Oxbow Chest by Gerald Lauchle — view 1

This is an "Oxbow Chest" that I more-or-less designed myself based on a period reverse serpentine-front chest seen in a photograph published in an out-of-print book by Lester Margon. I no longer have access to the book so cannot give a page number or title. I?m not even sure if it?s an oxbow, but that?s the name I gave it. If the editors believe that another name is more appropriate, it?s okay with me. Anyway, this chest is in walnut with poplar as the secondary wood. The walnut is filled with paste wood filler, sprayed with a sealer, and then sprayed with several top coats of clear lacquer.
