Corner Chair by John McAlister Jr. — view 1

Corner chair built from a photograph appearing on page 75 of Albert Sack's Fine Points of Furniture: Early American, (9th ed., 1967). In the photograph, the seat looked diamond shaped but every corner chair I had ever seen had, essentially, a square seat, so I made mine square! Years later I saw the original in the Karolik collection in Boston's MFA. The seat is indeed diamond shaped! It's always been one of my favorites; even with the square seat!
