Based on a design from Chippendale's director. Mahogany with crotch mahogany drawer fronts, door fronts, and top glass door inlays. Mouldings are carved like Newport shells. The shell finial is from a Charleston design of 1760. The shell design is repeated in the carvings on the glass door. Made for a cottage in Barbados.
