The table is based on an antique original that was my wife's Grandmother's table. There was no maker or date on the original, but it was definitely very old, and hand made. I made structural improvements to this reproduction by adding an apron, (missing from the original) to help support the top and add rigidity. The triangular top is actually three triangles, edge glued, to provide horizontal matching grain on all three sides with all three leaves. The legs and stretchers are spindle turnings. The hinges are from Horton Brasses. The finish on the cherry is three coats of Minwax Antique oil, followed up with Minwax furniture paste wax.
