Faithful reproduction of the John Townsend 1789 Tall Case Clock. Used photos from the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s book “John Townsend Newport Cabinetmaker” and from detail photos of the original clock at the Museum. Made from hand-planed Maryland Black Walnut (popular wood for the back). Carvings and moldings made with hand tools. Used antique glass. Finished with “Krenov Polish (thin filtered shellac) and wax. Clockworks from the Green Lake Clock Company of Chisago City, MN.
