I built this piece for my daughter, Dr. Kate Pittman, of Medfield, MA. I saw a Queen Anne piece at the MFA in Boston that had very unusual proportions, being much narrower than is customary, and gave the impression of being a lady's desk. I used the dimensions of the MFA piece although I made my desk in the Chippendale style.
