Original table shown in “The Furniture Masterworks of John & Thomas Seymour by Robert D. Mussey, Jr., Catalogue Entry #80, 29½” x 19⅛” x 15¾”. Currently in a private collection. My reproduction is identical in size. It is made of Swietenia Mahogani and Satinwood solid primary woods and Eastern White Pine solid secondary woods. Other woods include: Avodire Crotch, Satinwood, and Walnut burl veneers. A Holly and Ebony lunate banding surrounds the top edge. Holly and Ebony stringing is used throughout. A Maple, Ebony, Sheoak, and Holly banding surrounds the apron bottom edge. The burlwood top is surrounded by Satinwood crossbanding with an inlayed Greek Key. The top drawer is fitted with a writing tablet with a gold embossed leather surface. The bag is made of silk purchased in Vietnam in 1970 while I was serving in-country with the Navy.
