The table was one of two which formed the basis for an article I wrote for the 2014 issue American Period Furniture. Construction is based on techniques taught by Steve Latta. It is similar to pieces are found in the Kaufman Collection. Woods: Poplar with mahogany veneer. Apron--brick-layered basswood core with breadboard ends, cross veneered and veneered with crotch walnut and satinwood. Legs-- mahogany with holly string inlay, New York style. Sand-shaded bellflowers, shell patera cut with scrollsaw (pad) method.
