Woods: Poplar with mahogany veneer. Apron--brick-layered basswood core with breadboard ends, cross veneered and veneered with crotch walnut and satinwood. Legs-- mahogany with holly string inlay, Baltimore style. Sand-shaded bellflowers, acorn and thistle patera cut with scrollsaw (pad) method. This table was one of two forming the basis for an article I wrote for the 2014 issue American Period Furniture. Construction is based on techniques taught by Steve Latta. It is similar to pieces are found in the Kaufman Collection.
