The Newport Tall Case Clock is made from curly tiger maple with eastern white pine as a secondary wood. Based upon drawings from Mr Ed Stuckey, available for download on the SAPFM website. The dimensions are approximately: 91 1/2 inches high x 14 inches wide at the mid section, and 22 3/4 inches wide at the widest point of the bonnet molding. The base is 20 1/2 x 12 1/2 deep including the applied carved shell. The finials were made separately and left detached, according to the preference of the recipient of the piece. The finish is aniline dye, then sprayed shellac, French polished with Rottenstone. The movement is from Greenlake Clock Co and is not yet installed, awaiting painting of the clock dial.
