Looking Glass

Looking Glass by Fred Stanley — view 1

When I first become seriously interested (1970s) in period furniture, the Andrew Marlow books were quite inspiring to me. This past year I discovered a friend had purchased a mirror, piecrust table, and lowboy directly from Andrew back in the 1980s. My friend was kind enough to loan me the mirror to get some measurements. I changed the dimensions slightly to get the frame closer to the golden mean. Mahogany, finished with shellac and wax and 23 carat gold leaf.
