Six-board Chest

Six-board Chest by Ed Willer — view 1

I made this chest of field grown North Carolina walnut that I harvested myself. The inlaid monogram is made of North Carolina holly. The inside bottom is lined with purchased cedar. The joinery is hand cut dovetails. The breadboards on the top are joined with sliding dovetails and are pinned at the center. A sliding box 18" square x 5" deep in the interior can be lifted out to access the lower compartment.
